  7. The InTOUCH TV product consists of three subsystems.  The Video Encoding and
  8. Transport System (or VETS) subsystem is responsible for encoding prerecorded
  9. or live video programming with VEIL (Video Encoding of Invisible Light), an
  10. Interactive Systems, Inc. patented method of sending digital information along
  11. with TV programming.  The video programming then gets played by network or
  12. cable television operators.  The second subsystem, the In-Home Unit (IHU)
  13. receives the video signal and interprets the VEIL.  Custom interactive TV
  14. applications such as home shopping, home banking, interactive game playing,
  15. polling and coupons exist in the IHU and let the home viewer play along or
  16. interact with the TV programming.  The final subsystem, the Call Processing
  17. Center (CPC) interacts with the IHU via a modem.  The CPC provides on-line
  18. transaction processing and database services.  The CPC subsystem is also
  19. connected to the VETS subsystem for near instantaneous feedback.
